My Portraits of Portland subjects have been all about nature lately–nature interacting with either architecture or something else man-made. I like to explore the juxtaposition of two seemingly disparate subjects and pairing them with one another and seeing what kind of chemistry they can create together. The sky blending in with a beautiful, old, powder blue building. The strength of the Chrystal Springs bridge sprouting into the sweetness of an azalea bush. Or the vibrancy of turquoise paint serving as the back drop for a delicate purple flower. My surroundings are my canvas.
This mixture of photos came from outings to Pistils Nursery, Mississippi Ave, my backyard and The Chrystal Springs Rhododedron Garden.
