This is my third Spring in Portland and it’s become the season I look forward to the most. And every year I’m drawn to a different bloom. Last year it was the magnolia but this spring I’m completely enamored by camellia flowers. As a result I’ve been working on a camellia photo study of sorts. I’m really into how moody these photos turned out. Lately I’ve been dying to get my hands on a film camera–I think these striped beauties would be stunning on film.
P.S. I’ve only been digital thus far in my photography journey and I think film would really suit my aesthetic. If anyone has a film camera recommendation, one that is fairly simple yet I could grow into, that would just be the best. I’m thinking of starting with the classic Pentax K1000. Ahh the dreams and possibilities of where film could take my creativity just thrills me.
